The STaR Centre hosted a 2 day symposium as a satellite meeting to the Queenstown Research Week, on the theme of ‘‘Lymphatics in Health and Disease’.

The lymphatic system has been called the forgotten circulation.  There has been an exponential increase in publications on the topic and there is interest in the role of lymphatics in all organs and disease processes.

This focussed meeting was highly successful, with a surprisingly wide range of topics by world leading researchers in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

There were 53 registered attendees.  Everyone felt this was a great size which helped facilitate lots of interaction and future collaborations.

The plan is to run this meeting every two years.
